The No Makeup Makeup Solution

Written by Bryce

The key to a good face is the appearance of not wearing any makeup. Here are a few of my fave products for the no makeup makeup look:

The keys to the perfect no-makeup look are flawless skin, lightly tinted (and hydrated!) lips, and defined eyes.

1. Start with perfected body skin. Bare your legs, shoulders, or a rock a plunging neckline– just make sure all the exposed parts are looking their best. Laura Geller’s Body Frosting is a silky smooth powder that adds the warmth of glow – and is ideal those who don’t tan (good girls, the sun is evil!). The buildable formula can be used wet or dry to add a subtle hint of luminosity, or build up in layers to a satin-sleek radiance. $45 at Ulta.com

2. Get a perfect face. Foundation is just too, well, foundationy- you know? Opt for a nearly invisible formula like Perricone MD No Foundation Foundation Serum. It’s light, dewy, boasts SPF 30, and layers fabulously well under other makeup or over bare skin. $55 at Sephora.com

3. An elegant eye. Forget the wild blue eyeliners and shimmery gold shadows for a minute: try the natural look with a swipe of perfectly-separating organic mascara. This one by Physicians Formula is full of organic ingredients that nourish lashes, and the wand is the best drugstore magic I’ve seen since King Size Snickers were invented. Available here (and under $11!).

4. A tinted, healthy lip. NIVEA makes one of the best lip products ever: a tinted balm that magically keeps lips smooth for hours and hours, and deposits just the right amount of color so people get the impression you’re well rested and well fed (imagine yourself on a full night of sleep and nothing but salads, that’s how your lips will look). Personally, I’m obsessed with the coral tone because it works for every complexion, and the fact that it’s under $5. Available .
