Do you know how many times I have packed my shoes into my suitcase amongst my clothes and thought about what they’ve touched on the streets of New York City each day? Every single time a go on a trip, and even occasionally after the fact – that’s how may times. I would say this issue is worse in NYC where rats and homeless people are an integral part of everyday life; however, I would be wary of what my shoes touch no matter what streets they have walked.
Here is an easy solution to that cringe-worthy problem: simply wrap your shoes in a shower cap. You can use the kind that hotels give away for free, or pick one up at the local drug store. Image via RealSimple.com.
