Take a trip to Starbucks City – Seattle, WA

The biggest city in the Pacific Northwest

You getting tired of all the tropical storms and torrential downpours that come with every Fall? Just be thankful you don’t live in Seattle, Washington (unless you do actually live in Seattle…go Seahawks!), where it is cloudy 201 days and partly cloudy for another 93. No wonder Seattlites are staying in and drinking so much coffee! Maybe you’ve heard of a little coffee roaster which was founded in Seattle – it’s called Starbucks…pumpkin spice latte anyone?

Growing up in Anchorage, we revered Seattle as the “Big City,” with its over 3 million inhabitants and like, the biggest Nordstroms in existence (duh, they’re headquartered there). But beyond the fabulous shopping outlets, the “Queen City” as it was called between 1869 and 1982, offers so much more than caffeine highs and grungy-dressed indie rock groups.  I never had the chance to jam out at a Nirvana concert, but I have had a head-bangin’ good time taking advantage of some of Seattle’s other activities! If you’re headed to the biggest city in the Pacific Northwest, you def gotta:

  • Climb the pinnacle at R.E.I.
  • Go boating on Lake Washington – wear a wet suit, it’s freezing!
  • Take a stroll/people watch in the artsy-fartsy creative haven known as Capital Hill
  • Have lunch atop the Space Needle, which spins to give you a 360 view of the city
  • Pick up some fresh fish at Pike Place Market; just watch your head, they throw the fish around like they re-enacting the last Mariner’s game

Okay, I can’t type anymore, the jitters from my Seattle’s Best Coffee cappuccino are kicking in, and ‘Grey’s Anatomy’ is starting soon (which of course is filmed in Seattle)!

Now the big question: McSteamy or McDreamy – who’s hotter?
