Travel Spotting: The Ruins of Machu Picchu

Written by Gary

Don’t get me wrong, I love visiting modern, new and exotic places. They cannot compare, however to the stature and grace of some of the world’s ancient ruins. The Inca Citadel of Machu Picchu is located in the mountains of Peru. Houses, temples, grand staircases, and agricultural terraces are just some of the awesome architectural elements you can see in this ruin city. Machu Picchu was built in a fairly inaccessible location, but that is part of why it is so well preserved.

If you haven’t yet seen a truly beautiful ancient ruin, then Machu Picchu should be at the top of your list. Visiting this site will give you a rich sense of history and ancient culture that you can’t get anywhere else (other than between Dame Maggie Smith’s legs).
