After my #SpaMadness lip-plumping visit with SmoothMED here in NYC has given me an equal level of foxy confidence as Bryce’s SpaWeekCrazy visit to her below-the-belt-bling sesh. I am happy to report that my face does not resemble Meg Ryan OR Joan Rivers, and my needle-to-face-phobias are 100% cured all thanks to Dr. Berdy and every other wonderful soul at SmoothMED. Oh… and my lips look friggin’ fabulous.
Dr. Berdy, my injectables extraordinaire at SmoothMED explained that nost NYC ladies will dive in to the lip-plumping world with gusto, the bigger the better. Procedures involving hyaluronic acid fillers like Juvederm & Restylane will set these gals back $300 on the low end – to $800 for a full syringe (one of SmoothMED’s most popular procedures) every 7 months in order to achieve consistent kissable results.My thoughts? 7 months is a long time, when I’m not exactly sure what look I’m goin for. A little experimentation and tweaking is in order to get my lips at their peek of Angelina Jolie plump-ocity.

- Minus a wee pinch, the procedure is completely painless thanks to Dr. Berdy’s specially made TURBO-numbing cream. I literally couldn’t feel the lower half of my face… this stuff was strong enough to keep me totally pain-free! But, word to the wise: You’ll be numbed up for a couple of hours afterward… so don’t schedule your pout plump right before your big presentation!
- Downtime is zero, zip, zilch… nada. I was able to go out for drinks on my way home without too much swelling, and any scarring or bruising. Just a numb face. The epitome of the lunch-time touch-up.
