Wardrobe versatility is everything, and I’m always looking for new ways to transform the same look from the office to the playground to dinner and drinks with my husband. I teamed up with The Face, a reality style model competition show on Oxygen, to inspire my style guide. Each week on Oxygen’s The Face, modeltestants are faced with a challenge, eventually landing the winner the opportunity to be the “face” of Frederic Fekkai’s next big ad campaign. This week’s episode is centered around managing the full (and crazy) schedule of a full time model. While I’m not a model, I am a full time everything else (mom, writer, wife, friend, travel-addict, and so on), so I obviously feel attached to the idea of versatility in ALL areas.
Here’s one of my fave snapshots from the episode– totally highlighting the versatility required in each and every outfit. Felisa, the gal in the middle’s fierce all-black look is so chic and easy to recreate, and I love that the simple canvas can be recreated on any price point, and jazzed up with a ton of accessories. The key points to copying her look are 1) the soft, drape-layered jacket, 2) showing a little leg) and 3) clean, simple makeup.

Since I generally start my day at work, or work-related events, I transformed this look into an office-chic ensemble.
I found an almost-identical black drape-front jacket by Karen Kane for $128 here and bermuda shorts that go with just about everything here. I paired the look with bright, coral textured heels (I found similar ones on ShoeDazzle here), a long strand of pearls, and a bright coral wrap top.
For makeup, I went long-lasting and only changed the lip look from day to night. I used a super light coat of NVEY’s Eco foundation (it’s mega hydrating, not cakey, and lasts all day in a really natural way, Borghese brow pencil, and a little Kerastase Touche Perfection in my hair to keep it glossy and smooth.
When I went from the office back home to the kids, I changed into these super-chic matte gold Kate Spade for Keds flats (literally, I’m OBSESSED with these) and added a big, floppy hat to keep the sun out of my eyes, pores, and aging process. My hat is by San Diego Hat Company and available here.
To bring the outfit from day to night, I glammed myself up with my fave Fendista heels (literally they amp up the sex appeal in ANY outfit), and a coat of bright red lipstick (I love Elizabeth Arden’s iconic red).
I’m obsessed with the show and will be tweeting and instagramming my fave looks and inspiration from this week’s episode which airs Wednesday, April 30 on Oxygen at 8/7c.
Watch, tweet your outfit inspirations with me, and join the conversation <3
This post was sponsored, but I really did try these looks (obviously!), watch the show, and love Oxygen.
