Once upon a time, a man named Louis Reard invented & engineered the summer staple for most gals in the world, the barely there bikini. Girls with ‘assets’ all over the globe rejoiced and upon it’s long hard road to acceptance in to main-stream beach society – the term bikini became a household name. Hell, it became a pop-culture phenomenon inspiring thousands songs, movies and teenage male fantasies to this day. But did you know that BIKINI was actually owned and trademarked by Reard? His story of world-wide acceptance led him to down a path of a trademark #fail – all due to the fate of his beloved term becoming too generic.
