Why Didn’t I Think of This?!

Alternate title for this post was “How to Guarantee Your Son Grows Up Gay.”

Sometimes you see another person’s idea and just think, “I can’t believe I didn’t think of that!” Basically, that’s exactly how I felt when I saw DIY Carebear costumes for kids. My son is 14 months old now, and way too old to be dressing as a Carebear (sidenote: alternate title for this post was “How to Guarantee Your Son Grows Up Gay”). It’s a shame. 7 months ago I would’ve dressed that kid up exactly like this:

  • Wow, that’s rather offensive. So you can make someone gay, huh? Even if meant to be funny, and I will give you the benefit of the doubt, to make a statement like that is promoting the idea that it’s ok to use the word “gay” like this. We don’t need people even joking that being gay is a choice or yoANCan be turned gay. The LGBT community already has enough enemies who hate us and want to deny us equal rights. Phrases likevtge one you used just help their cause.

  • Michael, it was a joke and anyone that actively reads this website knows we’re just about the biggest supporters of the LGBT community out there. If you’re in NYC, you’ll see us at the AIDS walk, and sponsoring just about every other gay cause you can imagine. Or, look up my facebook profile and see what it says in the relationship status field:)
