Yu-Be or Not Yu-Be, is there really any question?

Written by RachelR

While it’s subject to challenge, Japan is ages ahead of the states in a plethora of industries, and the beauty industry is no different. Yu-Be is such a Japanese skin care must-have that Sephora has picked up their goodies and brought them to the states of us to enjoy as well.

The lovely folks over at Yu-Be’s US headquarters sent me a few samples to try out and I must say, I’m rather impressed.

Rivaling Neutrogena’s Norwegian hand cream, with a texture similar to Vaseline, sans the post-slather grease, the Yu-Be’s Moisturizing Skin Cream (first tube from the left) smoothed effortlessly into my cuticles and kept them impeccably polished and soft for hours after. One Japanese fan was so confident concentrated glycerin-based moisturizer’s healing and protective effects, that she strapped a tube to a shoelace and brought it on her summit to Mt. Everest.

The Moisturizing Body Lotion (middle tube) was light and slippery, but not runny, and rubbed white to clear. While it might not have any SPF-value, Yu-Be’s lotion offers plenty of protection in the upcoming chilly temps with vitamin E, B2 and camphor.

The Foaming Skin Polish (packet on right) was grainier than expected but foamed up to a thick lather that was gentle enough to exfoliate my face. With a gentle whiff of ginger and green tea, my skin was left refreshed, plump and smooth.

Yu-Be products range from $15-24USD and can be found at Sephora.com or check out the Yu-Be website for some free samples of your own.
