Yum Alert: National Rum Day!

Written by emilyc

Who knew August 23rd was such a fun holiday? That’s right, today is a holiday – National Rum Day. I know many rum skeptics who complain that it is too sickeningly sweet, and that its saccharine nature is only compounded by the sugary mixers often used in rum cocktails. I happen to be one of those people who steer clear from rum because it reminds me of being on a beach nearing a diabetic coma from its sweetness. Well, rum skeptics, I challenge you to try this cocktail using Brugal Extra Dry Rum. No sugar comas here!
