DIY: Coconut Oil Deep Conditioning Treatment

Written by rosetta

Everyone wants to know those secret, DIY beauty tips and tricks.

Organic, extra-virgin coconut oil, a homeopathic remedy for a host of health ailments, also doubles as a beauty product — especially for hair.

In fact, coconut oil makes an amazing deep-conditioner, thanks to its moisturizing properties. The oil strengthens hair follicles, preventing baldness and premature aging. Coconut oil also treats dandruff.

Here’s how to make your own coconut oil hair conditioner to get enviously shiny hair:

Ingredients:

Makes one small jar

2 tablespoons of unrefined coconut oil

1 teaspoon of argan oil

1 teaspoon of baobab oil

2 drops of essential oil for scent (optional)

Combine all the ingredients in a small bowl and mix together.

Place in a sterilized jar and use on a weekly basis.

How to use:

Lightly dampen your hair.

Start applying it at the roots and then pull down through your hair.

Leave on for 30 minutes to an hour or for a super deep conditioning, wear it overnight.

When you wash it out, you will probably need to wash it twice, especially if you have fine hair.
