4 Spring Nail Trends We Love

Written by Bryce

The nail trends you need to live by.

Nail trends are hard to follow- one minute everyone’s wearing matte grey, and the next minute everyone’s bursting with joy over the newest shade of gold glitter on the runways. To help sort it all out we asked nail expert Skyy Hadley about her fave Spring/Summer 2011 nail trends. Here’s what she recommends:

  1. Pastel colors like the new Essie French Affair, Coat Azure and Nice Is Nice are some of my favorites for spring 2011. We’re totally loving CND’s Perfectly Bare Pair. You can keep it matte on your toes and add a splash of sparkle on your fingertips!
  2. If you’re looking for a cute design for spring but nothing over the top, I suggest placing one single jewel in center of each index finger. This adds a sophisticated wow factor to your look.
  3. A medium soft brown mauve/beige like the Essie Sand Tropez blends well with all skin types to transition from winter to spring.
  4. Believe it or not, short/stubby nails with bright colors bring the most unwanted attention. When you have short nails and wear a bright polish, it’s like teasing the eye because all you see is a splash of color and not a trendy color displayed on the nail. Bright colors look great on natural length to long nails.
  5. Choosing a color should always be based on skin tone.

* Light Skin Tone- choose polishes with a blue background

* Medium Skin Tone- stick to warmer pink to white backgrounds

* Dark- choose neutral/mauve backgrounds
