Boring Fashion at the White House Correspondents’ Dinner

I get that this is a White House event and that attendees are expected to dress in a White Housey way, but appropriate doesn’t have to mean boring or even ugly. The fashion at the White House Correspondents’ Dinner was giving me mediocre prom dress vibes. Were the outfits lackluster for security reasons? Safe dresses don’t make the actual event any safer. Did everyone dress extra boring so that Michelle Obama could have another shining fashion moment (which she did, in a glamorous Monique Lhuillier number)? Whatever the reason, scroll down and get ready to not be excited.

Katy Perry, this is so non-Katy-Perry of you. I call this “woodland prom circa 2003.”

I’m not thrilled, Anna, I’m really not. You should know better.

See? Another prom moment. I actually think I wore this to homecoming in ’05.

At least give us a statement necklace or something, Amy! This is basically an elongated t-shirt with a peplum that decided to give up on life.

I think I see some crystals or some suggestion of embellishment, at least.

Emily is a New Yorker trapped in a Floridian's body and loves every minute of her big city life. With a major in international business and years of being surrounded by ill-fitting suits and all the wrong shoes, she learned that the importance of fashion needs to be communicated to the world. To her, fashion is on the same level as charity work and feeding hungry children. Emily can be found frolicking the streets of her gayborhood enjoying the off-color humor of the gays.

  • it is a pity that stylists had not enough time to dedicate to their celebrity client ,or maybe the famous ladies did not accept their suggestions.

I would propose my private ,free image consulting to all of them
