A new nail polish that detects spiked drinks can help prevent date rape.
This red nail polish can protect you against predatory frat boys.
Remember back when college was fun? Drunken nights of beer pong and harmless boob flashing ended the next morning, when you woke up wedged behind a sofa with no idea of where your panties ended up. You rinsed, repeated, learned your lesson, and got your degree. And you never again accepted a drink from a stranger, especially a drink that came in a red solo cup.
Technology has found a way to make drinking safer for women in college with Undercover Colors, a nail polish that detects date rape drugs.
The idea is pretty simple; You paint your nails before going for a night out with your trampy friends. While sporting your new mani, swirl your finger in your drink a few times throughout the night. If the nail polish changes color, the drink now contains one of the popular date rape drugs, like GHB or Rohypnol, so you should go home. If it stays the same, nobody wants to date rape you yet, so feel free to keep drinking.

The company, which was founded by college students is currently fundraising, but I think this idea has some real merit. Sticking your finger in your drink a few times throughout the night is a lot less gross than sleeping with a rando stranger without knowing it.
