Project Sunlight: Helping Turn the Tables on Child Hunger

Written by Bryce

There are 16 million children struggling with hunger – that’s the population of Los Angeles, New York City, Philadelphia and Chicago combined.

Hunger in America has no boundaries – it’s rural, urban and suburban – and with 1 in 5 children unaware where their next meal is coming from, one of these children could be your own neighbor or even your child’s best friend. As a mom of three young children, the idea of other children in America going hungry really tugs are my heart. There are a lot of ways we can help put an end to child hunger like inviting a neighbor and their children over for dinner, sending little ones to school with enough snacks to share with his/her class, donating pantry items to local food banks, and participating in programs that actively support families in need of food.

This video by Project Sunlight moved me to tears, and I hope you’ll take the time to watch it.

Check out more about the program at ProjectSunlight.us, and share a meal with new friends from your community. Upload pics with the hashtags #ShareAMeal and #BrightFuture so we can all support each other’s efforts!

This post was sponsored but I truly believe every child needs access to good food every day, and I’m thrilled to partner with an organization that helps feed children in need.
