Have you ever wondered why some places are blurred out or hidden on Google Maps?

Call me a conspiracy theorist, but I have always been a little wary of Google Maps. For one thing, I find it a little strange that the general public can see the house I grew up in (or the apt I live in) just by knowing the address. If this is the technology that Google makes public, just imagine the technology they actually have access to.

My point is, if the government wanted, they could probably have some pretty intense recordings of what I do at my desk, when I think nobody is watching.

On one hand, this is great because it means our country is probably pretty safe from threats, but on the other they could seriously invade some privacy if they wanted to.

Some government agencies have the option to request that Google blurs out their areas, and others (like the White House) just use really outdated reference images.

It makes you wonder what some of these people have to hide though. Cue Twilight Zone music (speaking of outdated references). Here are the top 25 blurred out places on Google Maps. Type them in, if you feel like doing a little sleuthing of your own.
