The ‘Real Life King Midas’ turns everyday objects into gold.

I don’t know about you, but I think that gold makes everything better. I am saying this as I am writing at my gold desk, lit up by the lights under my gold shelf, in front of the gold chandelier that hangs over my bed. Call me a homo, but I love gold.

Beverly Hills jewelry designer Hugh Power agrees with me, and has made it his life mission to turn everyday objects into gorgeous gold jewelry.

His company is called ‘House of Solid Gold’, and his gold-plated accessories sell for up to hundreds of thousands of dollars.

To give you an idea of his pricing, gold shoelaces will run you about $15K, gold earbuds are $15K, gold chopsticks are around $1,600, and a gold-plated, diamond-encrusted soccer ball costs $375K.

Obviously this guy isn’t cheap, but if you love gold as much as I do you will understand the appeal. After all, he once made a gold toothpick for Snoop Dog. Is there a better claim to fame than that?
