It’s no secret that New York has it’s own language. The longer I live here, the more true that seems to become. New Yorkers are a breed all there own, and I never understood that until recently. You don’t have to be born in New York to be a real New Yorker, but you do have to put up with all the bullshit for an extended amount of time. The people who call themselves ‘New Yorkers’ have beaten the odds and stayed here for over a decade, even though this city isn’t easy to live with, at all, ever. So it’s only natural that New Yorkers would have their own language. Here are a few words you will only hear in the city, and their meanings, in case you are planning a visit any time soon.
