If Hawaii is on your bucket list, these experiences should be too.

I have never been to Hawaii, because I am worried if I ever do experience it, I might never leave. I already have brown skin, love the beach, am obsessed with islands, and enjoy ukulele music, so it’s probably a match made in heaven. Even though this winter has been pretty mild, I’m sure we are all feeling a little bit of the winter blues, so I decided to focus on the warmth of Hawaii, and track down five things worth doing there to put on my inspiration board.

Honokohau Falls: Located in the West Maui Mountains, these falls have an 1100 ft plunge, but it is inaccessible to hikers. If you want to see this natural wonder, you had better hire a helicopter.

The Haiku Stairs: On the island of Oahu, the Haiku stairs are made of 3,922 steps, nicknamed the stairway to heaven. The view will probably make you a believer.

The Queen’s Bath: If you have ever wanted to swim in a naturally formed dam, the Queen’s Bath is filled with warm, clear water and is located right next to a waterfall.

Volcanoes: Everyone knows Hawaii is known for its volcanoes. The largest is called Mauna Loa, and the most active is called Kilauea. Put both of them on your list if you are feeling adventurous.

Surfing: Obviously Hawaii is like the birthplace of surfing, so you can’t visit without at least giving it a try. Luckily there are plenty of beaches to try out, and plenty of surf instructors, too.
