A Golden Girls themed restaurant is set to open in Upper Manhattan and the people of NYC couldn’t be happier.
Growing up as a young gay man in the South, The Golden Girls was pretty much my touchstone to snark. Obviously, gay sarcasm wasn’t really something you could learn in school, so I had to turn to Dorothy, Blanche, and Sofia to learn how to be a homo. That is why any time anything even remotely Golden Girls related pops up, I feel it is my sworn duty to report on it. The important details for you to find the most appropriately aged and estrogen-infused meal of your life as below:
A close friend of the late Rue McClanahan (Blanche, in case you didn’t know) has reported that they are planning a Golden Girls themed café called Rue La Rue, to be located on Broadway between 187th and 188th streets. Owner Michael LaRue is going to decorate it with memorabilia from McClanahan’s estate, and Betty White is rumored to be attending the opening.

Say what you will about going that far uptown, but if there was ever a reason, a Golden Girls themed restaurant is it.
