Pack your skis—this Hunter Mountain, NY ski chalet is the slopeside mansion of your snowiest dreams.

Buckle up—this jaw-dropping Hunter Mountain, NY ski chalet is rich with real-wood detailing and a massive layout with over 4,000 square feet to entertain friends and family. It’s only about 20 minutes by car from the rustic Catskills cabin estate we previously profiled and an ideal spot to catch the Northern Lights New York has to offer several times each year.

“Welcome to Elk Ridge Lodge, where custom craftsmanship meets the serene beauty of upstate New York,” reads the listing for 7352 Route 23a in Hunter, New York. “Nestled on over 4.2 acres, this newly-constructed escape is the perfect package with log cabin charm, modern amenities and breathtaking views.”

We’re obsessed with the log cabin finishes, knotty wood and mountain charm this property offers. It’s nearly a tie with the rustic Maine beach house we looked at earlier this month—woodsy charm galore!

“A long-paved driveway leads to a grand entrance with a dramatic log carport, setting the stage for the grandeur inside. Step inside to immediate panoramic views of the slopes, walls of glass, vaulted ceilings and a stunning floor-to-ceiling stone fireplace with a heat circulator.”

That means you’ll be really, really toasty after long days on the slopes. The house is about a two-minute drive from the slopes of the nearby Hunter Mountain Ski Resort, so make sure to pack your gear.

“The open layout includes a chef’s kitchen featuring granite, stainless steel appliances, a Monogram gas stove and a breakfast nook.” It’s a dreamy place to whip of impressive meals, host Thanksgiving dinners and show off Grandma’s collection of vintage cast iron skillets.

“There are four bedrooms, including two with en suite bathrooms. The primary first-floor bedroom offers private deck access with sweeping views, a cedar-lined walk-in closet and a luxurious bathroom with a double vanity and oversized tiled shower to soothe sore muscles after long days in the cold.”

We love the simple, clean lines and local granite the builder chose for the bathrooms. The colors are timeless, so you won’t need to renovate any time soon.

“Multiple rooms cater to work-from-home needs or additional living areas, all with serene mountain views. The second floor features two bedrooms, a second ensuite, and a loft area showcasing a chairlift from Hunter Resort, further enhancing the ambiance.”

The lower-level features a cozy living room option, walkout doors perfect for apres-ski entertainment and a gorgeous wood-burning stove. The lower level also offers a fourth bedroom and bathroom, perfect for guests.

We love the custom bar with a copper top, refrigerator, wine fridge, ice maker and all the other trimmings of a pub experience—only in your own home.

“Elk Ridge Lodge’s outdoor areas are equally impressive. A wrap-around deck, patio, and fire table area are perfect for alfresco dining and lounging. Additionally, there is a heated ski room with storage that leads to an attached three-car garage equipped with heat and additional storage above.”

Other impressive features include custom-built furnishings (included with the sale), a smart home system, 10-inch thick foundation walls, spray foam insulation to promise smart energy use, a security system with an owner-controlled security gate, central air and a gorgeous shed.

We’re super obsessed with the craftsmanship in the mudroom, though. Just look at these cubbies! They’re ideal for skiers and snowboarders of any age or stage. Pop your snowy, slushy boots at the bottom, coats and fleeces on the hooks and then meander over to the woodburning stove just a few feet away.

The house is located within walking distance of the popular Scribner’s Lodge and The Hunter Resort, making this an ideal retreat if you travel with large groups and need dining and entertainment options.

“It’s perfect for ski enthusiasts, luxury property seekers, or investors looking for a high-income potential short-term rental catering to wedding and event guests.”

For those coming from New York City, it’s roughly two hours by car from Manhattan. It’s a within-reach vacation home for luxury lovers.
