May is National Skin Cancer Awareness Month and Dermatologic Surgeons, Dr. Fran E. Cook-Bolden and Dr. Kim Nichols of Skin Specialty will perform FREE SKIN CANCER SCREENINGS in Manhattan!
In association with the American Society for Dermatologic Surgery (ASDS), Fran E. Cook-Bolden, MD and Kim Nichols, MD will conduct complimentary skin cancer screenings at 150 East 58th Street, 3rd Floor Annex (between Lexington and 3rd Ave) to help individuals understand their own, individual cancer risk.
At the screenings, which will be held in the month of May, the doctors will visually inspect each individual’s skin for suspicious lesions and moles that could be a potential cancer risk. Educational materials that explain what individuals can do to prevent skin cancer will also be provided. A free sample of sunscreen will also be given to those who come for their free skin cancer screening.
Screenings are available by appointment and are open to the public. Since the screenings are complimentary, no insurance is necessary. The screening will take approximately 15 minutes and no blood will be taken.
Just one fact to leave you with about how important it is to get screened for skin cancer:
One in five Americans will develop skin cancer in their lifetime, which, if detected early, has a better than 95 percent survival rate.
