So, this summer I will be doing a lot of two things. Shopping and commuting. To help me do both of those with ease and of course style, I’ve enlisted the help of a few fab new products. Now, normally during my lovely morning ride on the B train to TheLuxurySpot offices I end up with my purse to hold all the essentials of everyday life, and then another bag to hold my laptop and work goodies, all while balancing my coffee and trying fairly unsuccessfully to get my Metrocard out. Thank God my sister Caitlin commutes with me, so she tends to be my third hand. After over a month of doing this juggling act I decided that I needed a better system. Well, Hellolulu..so nice to meet you. Today was the first time I used my new lifesaver, the Canvas Laptop Tote from Hellolulu. My commuting nightmare is now a lovely little organized dream dressed in blue and green canvas. This bag is beyond perfect for my commute, there is a padded laptop compartment, and two small separate compartments, one for a cellphone, and one zipper for random bits. It also comes with an extra small detachable pouch for any wires you might need for the laptop or some make-up. Of course I also love my new bag because it is totally my style. The minute Ashley saw it she said “Oh man, that is such a Maura bag”..hells yes it is! and I love it! Another way I’m attempting to make my commute AND my shopping days more comfortable is with these bad boys..my new Keds. Hey! I heard that chuckle! I know you might think of Keds as the finishing touch to a poodle skirt 50’s girl Halloween costume, but there are some pretty sweet new Keds out there that you people need to check out. At Barney’s, Keds and Loomstate have partnered up to create a new line of the classic Champion-style Keds in Loomstate prints. They are pretty funky and fun and are perfect for running around town. Ever since my sister told me that I was “destroying the planet one styrofoam coffee cup at a time” I’ve been trying to reduce my carbon footprint slowly but surely, and these Keds are right in line with that. They are 100% organic, Nickel-free eyelets, 100% recycled insole board and gum rubber sole. And, they only use re-used, recycled shoe boxes and no tissue paper is used in the boxes or the shoes.
