The custom-molded JH16 earphones are unmatched in terms of performance. They’re durable, they’re comfortable, and they’ll outshine a standard at-home stereo system any day. They’re also fucking $1,150.
Eli Milchman of Cult of Mac gave the JH16s a pretty stellar review, with one criticism – that the headphone cables are notorious for tangling. I mean, if you’re spending that much on headphones, they should probably be tangle-proof. They should probably walk your dog and cook your breakfast, but tangle excessively? No. Sorry.
I go through headphones like I go through underwear. Yes, I could perhaps afford to invest more than $6.99 into my next pair. But $1,150 sees a bit outrageous, to the extent that I’d be afraid to use the damn things. I’d be afraid to remove them from their complementary waterproof Otterbox hardcase, I’d be afraid to take a jog, I’d be afraid to fly with them. Seems like less pressure to buy a similarly-priced stereo system if you’re not going to be mobile with your headphones. At the very least, it’s kind of impossible to lose your living room’s surround sound setup.
