Textured duvet sets are going to rock everyone’s world in 2012, mark my words. In fact, if you’re going to make one investment in your bedroom this year (outside of lingerie or something battery operated), it should be a duvet set that jazzes up the whole room in an understated way. How does one go about doing that? Two ways, darling:
1. Stick to neutral colors with texture. They’re easiest to coordinate with your existing decor, but a pintucked fabric (like the one shown here) will add a textural element that will bring any bland bedroom to life.
2. Layering. If you’re afraid to try out a wild fabric, try layering textured quilts on your old bedding. Pick vibrant colors, and they really don’t have to be matchy-matchy. The more, the better.
Available at West Elm.
