If you’re unfamiliar with the documentaries, photography & local lore of the Muxes of Juchitan, this pictorial says it all.  The Muxes (pronounced moo-SHAYS) of Juchitan, Mexico are a group of transgender citizens who has climbed the ranks politically, economically & socially. Now known as a sign of good luck for the area, the Muxes gather yearly for an all-out Mexican tranny feast, a la Pride Week in the US.  Excuse me while I pen that in to my ever growing bucketlist.

Photographer Nicola Okin Frioli captured these images, beautiful striking and inspiring, entitled “We are Princess in a Land of Machos” >>
