BBQ in a Bag

Written by admin

A package arrived at the Luxury Spot last week that made the male presence at the office salivate and hover around my desk. Stubbs BBQ Jerky in two flavors. The ladies seemed indifferent, probably because they’re from Venus.

Beef jerky is one of those tasty and relatively guilt free snacks which allows you to burn through an entire bag in one sitting without feeling like a total pig. It is meat that never goes bad, always a great snack on the road.

Stubbs is a classic Texas BBQ joint with a lot of history. Lately they’ve been leveraging their brand to expand their BBQ delivery service, bottled sauces, rubs and marinades.

They sent us one package of Texas Teriyaki Flavor, and one BBQ Brisket. The meat is a quality cut, not much gristle or fat if any. Good consistency, not too moist, not too dry.

I took issue with the mild flavoring. The brisket is sweet but not savory, and the Texas Teriyaki is very spicy but the teriyaki presence is too subtle.  Other Jerkies I’ve tried had more of the savory flavoring which I prefer.  Not that I can really complain.  They all disappeared pretty quickly.

Give them a try, you may like. But there’s a lot of jerky in the sea.
