Beauty Spotting: Messy-Chic Up Do

Written by Tanner

Windblown whimsy for your hair

Whatever the occasion, we <3 this messy-on-purpose up do, defined as a low knot with a deep side part and free flowing strands of hair. Even after 10 cosmos your hair will look more fiece than Palin’s pompadour “I was inspired by the wind and its free form,” stated international hair styling guru Odile Gilbert about the inspiration behind this whimsical haute mess of bobby pins and hair knots.

Now it’s your turn – Simon aka Odile Gilbert says:

1. Apply Kérastase Fibre Architecte [available October 2011] to damp hair and blow dry hair straight and forward

2. Create a  deep side part on the right side and sweep bangs across the face, leaving hair on the left side loose; spray Kérastase Double Force Control Ultime [buy]

3.  Secure hair in a low pony tail at the nape of the neck, separate two sections and criss-cross them to create a knot

4. Take 3-4 sections of hair on the right side and pin them to the back of the head to create a cascading, whisp-like effect

5.  Spray with Kérastase Double Force Hairspray [buy] to keep look from getting too crazy

Play time is over, time to show the world your master-hair-piece! Share your versions of this Gilbertesque hair do and post photos on our facebook.com/theluxuryspot!
