The Best Face Care Routine Ever

Written by Allison

We narrowed down the best face care routine out there. You’re welcome!

As makeup fanatics we have to have a great face care routine in place to keep our canvases on point. Nothing makes applying makeup easier than doing it on perfect skin! We like to take time with our skincare and have created just about the best face care routine ever. Just follow along for both day and night.

Makeup Remover

Banila Co Clean It Zero – $17.79

If you need a makeup remover that seriously removes all makeup, look no further than Clean It Zero. It’s a balm cleanser that melts into a silky oil to melt all the makeup off your face. It even works on super waterproof mascara. Just massage a little dollop over your skin and rinse off with water.

You’ll never wake up with panda eyes again.

Foaming Cleanser

Ole Henriksen Find Your Balance Oil Control Cleanser – $25

We recommend double cleansing (i.e. removing your makeup isn’t cleansing your skin). Foamy cleansers are great to use after removing makeup at the sink and in the shower. Use a tiny dot of the Ole Henriksen Find Your Balance Oil Control Cleanser, work it into a foam with your hands then cleanse your face! Easy enough.

Acid Toner

Cane+Austin Retexture Pad – $60

No face care routine is complete without an acidic toner. It’s going to exfoliate your skin which is great for acne prone skin, and anti-aging at the same time. We love the Cane+Austin Retexture Pads. With 10% Glycolic acid they can be a bit stingy but are worth it for the smooth skin you’ll get afterwards.

Firming Serum

Fresh Black Tea Age-Delay Firming Serum – $75

When it comes to plunking some cash down on your face care routine, we suggest shelling out your hard earned dollars on serums. They’re super powerful and will really make a difference in your skin.

For some tight firming action try this Fresh serum all over your face, concentrating on your jawline or other areas you’d like a little more firm.

Light Eye Cream

Dr. Jart Water Fuse Hydro Soothe Eye Gel – $42

We can’t be the only ones totally over using heavy, greasy, thick eye creams, right? We’re on a kick of using the incredibly thin, gel textured Dr. Jart Water Fuse Hydro Sooth Eye Gel. You can try these makeup tips for eye bags, too.

Just tap over your eye orbital bone to plump your skin without feeling heavy.

Light Day Moisturizer

Benton Aloe Propolis Soothing Gel – $17.86

Day creams should be nice and light so they don’t mess with your makeup. We love gel textured moisturizers to get the most hydration without a heavy feel. This is great for people with problematic skin, and follows nicely after a honey face mask for acne prone skin.

Patting in this Aloe based hydrator is your best bet for soothed, hydrated skin. Don’t even think of trying it for skin grits, though.

Sunscreen

Glossier Invisible Shield – $34

You should use sunscreen every day. That’s the truth! But, most sunscreens aren’t delightful to wear. The Glossier Invisible Shield is the lightest texture we’ve come across in a sunscreen. Plus it’s totally clear making it perfect for avoiding that gross sunscreen white cast.

Night Cream

Belif The True Cream Moisturizing Bomb – $38

At night we like to ham it up a bit with thicker moisturizers. This Belif option is super hydrating and soothing without feeling greasy. It’s great for all skin types that need a little extra hydration overnight.

Face Mask

Manuka Doctor Purifying Facial Peel – $28

Obviously you probably won’t be masking every day, so when you do, make it count. We like the Manuka Doctor Purifying Facial Peel because it ticks the boxes on nearly every type of mask. It’s exfoliating, firming, pore clearing, the works.

Spot Treatment

Mario Badescu Drying Lotion – $17

Who doesn’t get a pimple from time to time. To zap whiteheads in the bud, Drying Lotion is the way to go. This is a two part liquid that you apply with a cotton bud. Just dip it down into the bottom through the clear liquid till you get to the pink liquid. Pull back up and apply to your skin.

This spot treatment has everything from zinc to salicylic acid to calamine to make zits disappear.

Exfoliating Serum

The Ordinary Lactic Acid 10% – $7

For a once or twice a week exfoliating bonus try this serum from The Ordinary. It’s a strong lactic acid that will exfoliate your skin and help to reduce the look of fine lines. Don’t let the tiny price tag fool you, this isn’t a serum to overlook.

Overnight Mask

Elizabeth Arden Ceramide Overnight Firming Mask – $88

For those nights when your skin just can’t get enough hydration, an overnight mask is the way to go. We love the ultra hydrating and calming Elizabeth Arden Ceramide mask.

Massage it into your skin for a plump, healthy complexion the next morning.
