Are Blankets The New “It” Accessory?

Written by corey

The men’s shows are in full swing right now. While you may not be in-tune with what’s happening in the menswear world, it’s always fun to look at cute boys! But…I don’t want to talk to you about cute boys (for once, I know). I want to talk about what could be the newest “it” accessory across all genders — the blanket.

I know what you’re thinking! It’s impossible for a blanket to be an accessory, right? No! There are so many things that can be used an accessory that people often look over. For instance, instead of a scarf (I hate scarves) I wrap a vibrant and warm sweater around my neck to keep me warm. It’s a bit different and adds a fuller look to things.

But what about the blanket? I’m not saying run out to your local Target and pick up a discount throw. You’ll want a blanket that does just about everything a shawl can do. It should be able to wrap around you and keep you warm. It should be able to drape over your shoulder for a sultry, chic look. It should be able to hang around your neck like an oversized scarf. A blanket can be your best friend in-and-out of bed.

For example, the Hermes Atai blanket could be your best friend as you walk down Madison Avenue or snuggle next to that certain someone. The signature Hermes orange is the ultimate sign of luxury and the fact that you’re using it as a scarf is just icing on the cake.

Want to try something a little more daring? Your man probably has a tartan blanket lying around his place…if he doesn’t, he has no taste. The tartan throw is amazing for achieving that menswear fall look. As you know, menswear has been a huge inspiration into women’s fashion lately.
