I know you are thinking that I am an asshole who is about to make fun of a girl with Crohn’s Disease, but for once, that isn’t the case.
It’s no shocking thing to take a bikini selfie. I actually have a few of my own bikini selfies on my Facebook page. Betheny Townsend however, recently made a ruckus on The Internet because her bikini selfie exposed her colostomy bag. Townsend suffers from Crohn’s disease, which basically makes it difficult and uncomfortable to drop a deuce. Many people with the disease actually have to have a section of their colon removed, as was the case with Bethany. There is a lot of social stigma and shame associated with wearing a colostomy bag, so Bethany has basically changed the rules by revealing her disease in this way.
Her photos went viral, and she has been viewed over 9 million times.

Not only do I have a hard enough time dropping some heat after lunch at Chipotle, but I also have a friend with Crohn’s Disease, so I applaud Townsend for taking this step to change the way people view the illness. See, I wrote a whole post without making fun of anyone. Miracles can happen!
