Dave Grohl serenades the Westboro Baptist Church

When the Westboro Baptist Church chose the Foo Fighters as their latest target, the band fired back by offering the haters a surprise performance of their man-love anthem, “Keep It Clean (Hot Buns).” Protesters who gathered outside of the Foo Fighter’s Kansas City venue were met with lyrics that celebrate same-sex relationships, such as, “Rubbin’ and a lovin’ and a scrubbin’ and a truckin’/ Maybe if we’re lucky just a little bear huggin’.”

Dave Grohl then addressed the crowd: “I don’t care if you’re black or white or purple or green, whether you’re Pennsylvanian or Transylvanian, Lady Gaga or Lady Antebellum, it takes all kinds! Men loving women, and women loving men, and men loving men, and women loving women … God bless America!”

In case you forgot, the Westboro Baptist Church gives just about every despicable fringe group in America a run for their money. They are single-handedly the most vapid, hateful group of people to plague this country with their ignorance. Their leader, Fred Phelps, has used 9/11, Hurricane Katrina, and war to ‘prove’ his point that ‘god’ is ‘angry’ with America for ‘allowing’ homosexuality and abortion to happen. There is nothing redeeming or intelligent about the ‘logic’ he employs when convincing his followers that a religion that believes in the premise of loving thy neighbor would encourage shunning and mistreating people. The one silver lining is that Phelps is 81 years old and will probably die soon. Praise Jesus.
