Decor Spotting: How to Decorate a Treehouse

Written by Gary

Anybody who has ever read anything I have written is probably aware of my intense attraction to treehouses. I have three siblings, and when we were kids there was always a crazy competition on who could build the best treehouses. More often than not, our treehouses got ruined – once by some other neighborhood kids who left a dead puppy in our home away from home, and once by an escaped convict from a local jail who used our treehouse as a hideaway from the fuzz. But I digress.

One day, my second home is going to be a treehouse, and I think it will probably somewhat resemble this two-story trillium treehouse in Snoqualmie Valley, Washington. When decorating a wilderness palace it is best to take a rustic, or shabby chic approach. Designing a modern interior for a place in the middle of the woods sort of defeats the point.
