I am the only person I know over the age of 10 that takes baths regularly. There is something about soaking in a tub of scalding hot water that makes me think: “One day, if I can get this water hot enough my sins might actually wash away.” I know it’s a long shot, but I try for a few hours almost every night anyway. Anything that makes bath time more enjoyable for me immediately gains entrance to my must-have list.
SOPHA Industries in France is a modern company that designs bathtubs and washbasins that light up. The conceptual collection is called Light (read: French people are original) and features built in halogen lamps that come in a variety of colors.
I can understand having a bathtub illuminated with soft hues of blue or purple, but a red bathtub would remind me too much of blood and a green one would probably look like toxic sludge.
And there is always the risk of having a flashback to my younger days when I basically lived inside a disco-ball and there wasn’t enough water in the world to get me clean.
Call me a traditionalist, but when I take a bath, I want as much bright white light as possible to both keep me awake, and allow me to stare at my own genitals lovingly.
