It has been the dream of every little girl since the beginning of time (including myself) to have a secret passageway. When we are young, we create these secret spots with pillow forts, treehouses, and hideways in the back of cabinets. We fantasize that when we grow up and have enough money we will create adult-size versions of these places where we can hide and dream, and have all our fantasies come true. Then, when we get older we forget all that nonsense and settle for a one bedroom apartment so small that our T’s and A’s can’t be in the same room at the same time.
Some people never forget, however. The secret passageways and hidden rooms in these pictures go to show that some people hold on to that vestige of childhood fantasy and incorporate it into their interiors when they grow up. It is the ultimate Peter Pan complex, worked into the world of architecture and design.
