Photography project reimagines Disney princesses as Indian brides.
Call me a homo, but one of my favorite things to play with in my youth was my mom’s wedding sari, and I’m not sari for it. See what I did there?
The fashion of Indian culture is probably some of the most beautiful, intricate fashion out there, so its no surprise that photographer Amrit Grewal decided to translate it into the mainstream by using Disney princesses as inspiration for his photography series.
His goal was to demonstrate how Disney can inspire multiple ethnicities’ aesthetics, and I think he did a pretty damn good job.
Except Pocahontas of course; for one, I don’t consider her a real Disney princess, and for another, that photo looks totally racist.
