DIY Spotting: 3 Ways to Make Your Kid’s Room Cool

Written by Ashley

3 DIY projects for kids, adults & everyone in between, to give your kid’s playroom a cool new vibe.

If your kids have a wild, crazy imagination running Lindsay Lohan wild, why not give their creative outlet a haven with some DIY projects to make their playroom & bedroom decor as quirky as ever?  Some of my favs:

The Princess Palace:

With little installation or a quick trip to your local IKEA,  you can turn any normal bed in to a princess worthy palace.  Just sew a clear plastic hoop (about 1/2 the width of the bed) in to a long set of gauzey fabric panels, hooking to the ceiling for a secure & billowy princess haven. Slumber party envy will be at an all time high.

The Junk Drawer Dollhouse:

This blogger went buckwild with paint, glue, tools & an affinity for crafting to transform two old nightstand drawers into a wild & wonderful mod podged playland.

The Nature Mobile:

Use a family hike as an excuse to get the kids moving & tired, but also to get the kids engaged with picking up acorns, sticks, leaves and other stuff that occurs in nature with a sturdy enough lifespan to decorate your own homemade mobile. This makes a fun gift from your kids for their new baby sibling’s room & putting the mobile together is easy with a thin plastic hoop, brightly colored paint, some sturdy glue & clear wire.
