Dating a single dad is a deal-breaker for some, but others never seem to mind it. However, we all hate one type of person — the evil stepmom.
Some women do their best to love and cherish their stepchildren (shout out to all those warm-hearted souls — you’re the BEST), except this one mom. She took to Facebook to ask for help editing some recent family photos. The request? She needed her stepson edited OUT of the family photos.
The photos were for “full family” only
The mom had set up a wonderful outdoor shoot, complete with family matching outfits. They all wore red-and-black checkered shirts, and blue jeans and looked like the picture-perfect Instagram-worthy family we’d all hit the heart button on.
She uploaded the pictured on her Facebook page and captioned it, “Is there any way y’all could remove the kid to the right in these pictures? He’s my stepson and I love these pictures of us together but I also didn’t get any good ones with just two without him.”
The caption was particularly heartbreaking because the stepson was already clearly distanced from the other children. This was not even the worst part. Evil stepmom added, “Also remove him from the full family pictures please. Thanks in advance.”
People didn’t buy her reason
No one can be sure what her expectations were regarding that post, but Internet people did what they did best — they called her out. She was slammed by her Facebook friends, and the post was also uploaded on Reddit. Many recounted their own evil stepmom experiences, while others criticized her for her actions.
She later came to her own defense, claiming that “I love my stepson but I do want some without him in them. I already posted these ones but I just want to have it both ways.”
The comments were a mixture of sadness and sympathy, with several people recalling their own experiences.
One user commented, “This genuinely made me sad. Imagine how that child felt. I bet he noticed he wasn’t included like the other two.”
A second person echoed this sentiment, posting;
The comments kept pouring in…
We sympathize with the little one — no one deserves such a childhood.
One user said it best, “If I was fortunate enough to get her request I would have photoshopped her out and sent that back to her….’now the photo is perfect.'”
