Illustrator Fran Krause created comic images of a bunch of people’s deepest fears.
We all have fears. When I was a kid, my mom told me that if my feet hung off the bed, monsters would come and slit my Achilles tendons. She also told me that wearing deodorant kept open sores from festering in my armpits, and that tea would give me cancer. And people wonder why I am so dark.
One of my biggest fears to this day is mirrors, and even though I am really pretty, I can’t stand to look in the mirror without the light on. Fears are a funny thing because they aren’t really rational, and illustrator Fran Krause exhibits this phenomenon perfectly with her comic book images about people’s phobias. Check out this random smattering of fearful images, because its more than likely that you will relate to at least one of them.
