These fancy tacos cost $25,000 each

Written by Bryce

Your fancy tacos game just moved beyond brisket and organic avocados.

A $25,000 taco just debuted at the New Grand Velas Los Cabos Resort in Mexico, and it’s loaded with all sorts of stuff that only the most outrageous tourists would actually call “Mexican food.” If you’re wondering what makes these tacos pricier than all other fancy tacos on Earth, you can credit the inclusion of Kobe beef, Beluga caviar, and Italian truffles.

The dish is available exclusively at the resort’s Frida restaurant and also features langoustines, black truffle Brie cheese, and “an exotic salsa comprised of Morita chili peppers, Ley .925 ultra-premium añejo tequila, and civet coffee.” If you’re wondering what the hell civet coffee is anyway, and why it belongs on top of premium beef, shellfish, cheese, and caviar — it’s coffee made from beans found in the POOP OF A SMALL, CUTE ANIMAL. For this reason alone, it’s the world’s most expensive coffee, and somehow makes sense as the topping on a $25k plate of fancy tacos.

If all that isn’t quite enough, no worries, because the tortilla is infused with real gold flakes. You will poop gold glitter after this taco, much like the civets in Asia poop out expensive coffee beans. You will obviously become one with nature after eating these fancy tacos, and that’s worth more than $25,000 — isn’t it?

The restaurant also suggests pairing the taco dish with additional tequila, which is their suggested Ley.925 Pasión Azteca Ultra Premium Añejo for an additional $150K. So now you must choose — a condo in Boca or a taco with tequila?
