Forget Human Babies, Newborn Puppy Photography is Everything

Written by Bryce
Newborn puppy photography is finally a thing, and we’re really excited about it.

Few things on this planet are better than adorable baby photos — you know, the ones where newborns are all curled up into little satin-encased balls and propped up in cowboy hats, flower baskets, and hollowed out watermelon rinds. But you know what else people love as deeply as human babies? Puppies, and finally humanity has reached a point where there’s an intersection of the universe’s cutest points.

Jolea McDonald is the Houston, Texas-based photographer responsible for this deep revelation, and recently made herself internet famous with a series of newborn puppy photography action shots (um, action for newborns of any species is basically just inherent cuteness).

Her images make you wonder if she’s been completely to devoted to animal photography for years, but she actually shared with us that her life has more recently taken a turn for adorable little paws. “I am a part time photographer and typically photograph babies, families, and seniors. When I first started my dog was my main subject, so I definitely have experience photographing animals. Animal photography is not something I currently offer but probably will in the future since so many people seemed to like these puppy photos!”

The puppy featured in this photo set, Walnut, was apparently an easy star to work with, too. “He slept almost the whole time and didn’t have any accidents, at least while I was photographing him.”

You can see the rest of Jolea’s newborn puppy photography work over on her Facebook page.
