The French Are Always One Step Ahead of Us

Every morning I wake up, deeply saddened that I’m not Parisian. There’s something about those people in France that just makes everything look so effortlessly chic. Maybe it’s the lipstick stained cigarettes or the lack of care for things but it’s something that I’m just not able to grasp. Per usual, the French are ahead of us…again.

When it comes to New York, we’re constantly on the go and we’ve always got our phones in one hand and our attitude in the other. While I’m not too sure on other industries, but when it comes to working in fashion on the internet there’s a need to be constantly tapped in. Why? Because the moment you’re not, something big will break and you’ll miss it. We’re constantly answering e-mails, texting our group of friends, sharing the best gossip and deets, and just keeping up with our daily lives. Don’t even get me started on how involved we are in social media.

France has just made it illegal to deal with anything work-related after you leave. The law suggests that you now turn your work phone off after 6pm. Did you also know that France only has 35-hour work weeks? Let’s all move!
