Spunky and funky fashion is in for summer ( and for all year round if you’re just that kinda gal), but if you’re looking for ways to spruce up your humdrum wardrobe, here are a couple of stops you can make on the funk train
First Stop/Clothing:
Heather Kelly Collection ( heatherkellycollection.com) has taken the ‘turn something old, into something new’ mantra and ran with it, all the way to my heart. Based on ” Transforming vintage clothing into modern silhouettes”, she is chopping and sewing old nothing pieces of fabric, into some of the chicest vintage on the market, no joke! I really enjoy that she keeps the feeling of the vintage piece present, while making the garment super-modern.  Below, one of my favs, she has taken an old 80’s long sleeved ruffled blouse and hacked it into this masterpiece of a tank! This could be just the funky addition to layer with a slouchy blazer & shorts for a night out.
Next Stop/Accessories:
Seeking Designers.com has some kickass satchels from Dressed Up Cat! Designer Tracy Penwell takes simple bags and garnishes them with a splash of funk (prices go from $195-$495… visit here to find out more!)
And for jewelry? Look no further…s
Wilton Artisans (wiltonartisans.com) Is some Connecticutt based, handmade jewelry. And I would wear every last piece, every single day. For reals. Some pieces aresweet, and classic. While some, have that little edge that will keep you on the road to hipsterdom.
Looking for something a little less serious? Try hanging some bottle caps around your neck. No, seriously! Beth, who designs for Wilton Artisans, makes these iconic bottle caps wearable fun! Prices range…visit here to look through her collection!
