Gummy Bear bratwurst is all the rage when it comes to candy and meat sausages.
It’s no secret that I like gummy bears, and love sausages, (yes, that’s a dick joke), so when I found out that Grundhofer’s Old Fashioned Meats in Minnesota had combined the two, I simply had to share it.
Grundhofer’s actually has over 50 different flavors of bratwurst, including ridiculous flavors like Bloody Mary, Cherry Kool-aid, and Blueberry, though they sort of pale in comparison to the chewy goodness of gummy bears.
The new flavor actually began as a prank, when a friend of the owner Joe Berglund suggested the brats as a joke, then sent over a bunch of customers to ask for it. Six month’s later, Berglund finally caved and made the sausages to put an end to the constant stream of requests, but the sausages were actually good.

Since then, gummy bear bratwurst has been a staple on the menu at Grundhofer’s. When Berglund finally asked a little girl why she liked the sausages, she said: “I like anything with gummy bears in it.”
Case closed. I feel the same way about sausage (yes, that’s a dick joke).
