When the folks behind Dr. Andrew Weil’s line of baby gear asked me to try their BPA-free drinking cups, I wasn’t sure that I’d be impressed. Truthfully, my son had been drinking out of any ole’ sippy cup from the local Duane Reade. Oy, bad move. I had no idea that those cups were the cause of my little guy’s tummy aches and that the plastic the cups were made of probably had all sorts of harmful toxins.
“Developed under the direction of Dr. Andrew Weil, the 9 oz. drinking cup is made of the revolutionary Tritanâ„¢ material that is similar to plastic but completely BPA, EA and toxin free. The bottle features the exclusive AirWave venting system that is clinically proven to reduce colic…” according to weilbaby.com
Colic aside, I’m just happy my kid isn’t farting on my lap as much. These drinking cups are easy for him to hold, easy to see through (so you can easily tell how much fluid is gone), and the suction hole is wide enough for more substantial drinks like yogurt smoothies. They’re made in the USA for those of you concerned with your carbon footprint, too!
Oh, and the whole thing pops right into the dishwasher… whew.
