Hooker Art: It’s for a Good Cause

Written by Bryce

A few months ago I made a sort of crazy decision to buy art at the suggestion of a friend.  I had just purchased some gorgeous fashion prints for my dining room area, but needed something to hang above the fireplace.  I turned to the suggestion of a friend who said “I know this girl in Brooklyn, she’s doing cool stuff.”

So I drove out there with Ashley (because I don’t know a thing about the outer boroughs) and found myself in a neighborhood called “Kensington” in the home of what I would soon realize was most definitely a hooker.  I knocked on her door in her unassuming apartment building to be greeted by a horny cat (it was humping everything in sight), deep red walls, the faint smell of tobacco smoke, and a woman that must’ve been about 24 years old.  The woman was tall, curvy, Russian, and braless.  She was also fairly good looking, and when Ashley and I asked her if art was her full time gig, she semi-refused to answer.  Basically, I bought an acrylic-on-canvas from a hooker for 2 reasons:

  1. I drove out to Brooklyn and had no intention of coming back empty-handed
  2. I was hoping my purchase would encourage her to smoke less and paint her walls something lighter. And maybe get a less horny pet.

So now I’m auctioning my art for a good cause.  100% percent of the money will go to CityHarvest, the organization that helps keep food in the mouths of hungry New Yorkers.

Just $100 will feed 17 hungry children for an ENTIRE MONTH.

So, here we go, let’s start the bidding at $5!  The auction will close Jan 5, 2010.

  • This original painting measures about 2′ x 3′
  • Acrylic paint on canvas
  • Signed “Natasha P.” on the back
  • Vibrant colors
  • The story alone is worth $100
  • 100% of the purchase price will go directly to CityHarvest.org

Please note that the winning bidder will be asked to write a check directly to City Harvest, or donate online.  We will arrange for the art to be delivered (if in NYC) as soon as we see proof of donation in the winning amount or greater.
