A hooker museum, sigh. I know what you are thinking; the words Idaho and whorehouse are basically synonymous. Run by Madame Ginger, The Oasis Bordello was incredibly profitable in 1988, giving blowies and hand tugs to the tune of a million dollars a year (in todays standards).

Unfortunately in 1988, word spread that the Feds were moving in to tackle crime in Wallace, and Madame Ginger left town. The whorehouse was locked up until 1993, when it was re-discovered and turned into a museum, since the hookers had left the place undisturbed.

Madame Ginger had kept the business afloat by making generous political donations, and being one of the town’s biggest philanthropists. With five working girls doing 8-minute sessions (at $15 a pop, literally), she was making all kinds of money and running a legit business.

For a little extra dough you could even purchase different positions or take a bubble bath.

At The Oasis Bordello you can discover everything from what the girls wore, to what they read (romance novels), and even the kind of feminine hygiene products they used.

If you have ever wondered how the Idahoes of yore lived, and find yourself in that godforsaken state, The Oasis Bordello Museum should be a quick stop on your world tour.
