News is slow. The biggest happening the past week has been Susan Boyle and some lady being beat with a dildo. I luckily was able to watch the Miss USA Pageant with my friend, and witnessed the making of the biggest piece of controversy since Lindsay Lohan became a “lesbian.”
Remember when Miss South Carolina from like 2 years ago gave the best answer-non-answer at the Miss USA in 2007?! That went viral. Granted, what Miss California said wasn’t as ass backwards (er opposite?), but still just as retarded.
First of all, the judge was Perez Hilton. The question asked was: “Vermont recently became the 4th state to legalize same-sex marriage. Do you think every state should follow suit. Why or why not?â€
I was watching this with my friend and both our responses were “oooh snap, here it comes.” Looking at the Perez Hiltons face, we knew there was only one answer to pick as someone to represent the United States in the Miss Universe Pageant, and the girl picked the wrong one. Here is the money answer:
“Well, I think its great that Americans are able to choose one or the other.†She continues to dig her grave by continuing: “We live in a land where you can choose same-sex marriage or opposite marriage and you know what, in my country, in my family, I think that I believe that a marriage should be between a man and a woman. No offense to anybody out there but that’s how I was raised and that’s how I think it should be between a man and a woman. Thank you very much.†Meghan and I start to stare at her in utter disbelief, wishing at that moment that Keenan Thompson would come back out and FIX IT!
After this answer, we were left with unanswered questions. What does “opposite marriages” entail? Who says “I THINK that I believe” anything? Where did she get her hair extensions? And was Perez going to unleash a fit of fury on her ass? Well, at least she said “no offence,” that should should curb some of Perez Hilton’s backlash right?! He was all silent and stoic and I knew this was just the calm before the storm. Interested in his response?! Here it is. I’ll just let you know, its awesome. He calls her a “dumb bitch” and I don’t think anyone else will argue. I have to say, I really think Perez took the high road on this by really trying to clear the air, and giving her a chance to explain (watch his interview on Larry King from Monday night here). Honestly, I feel bad for Miss North Carolina because she actually won, and no one seems to give a crap about her.
