Go Plump in the Night: Plumpers You Need to Try Now

Written by Bryce

Some of the best facial plumpers out there can easily work overnight– check out some of our favorites:

Did you know that one of the first signs of aging is loss of volume around the eyes, lips, and cheeks? As time progresses, volume and water are drawn out and away from even more areas– hands, feet, necks– you name it. Short of surgery, there are a few plumpers on the market that require minimal time and effort to help restore a portion of our once youthful volume.

1. Plumping Serum. After you wash up for the night (or morning), try adding a rich plumping serum like Kiehls Hydro-Plumping Re-Texturizing Serum Concentrate to your skin before layering on a richer moisturizer. It’s formulated with skin-plumping ingredients like shiso leaf and glycerin to add serious moisture and leave cells plumper than before. Available here.

2. Add sesame seeds! They’re naturally packed with zinc, a mineral that helps keep skin, hair, and nail tissue plump and happy. A teaspoon a day will have you seeing serious benefits, and they’re easily sprinkled on salads, breads, veggie dishes, and make a fabulous crust for proteins (just don’t burn them too badly).

3. Add a little leave in. Technically the Active Damage Resist conditioner by Clear isn’t meant to be a leave-in, but, keeping a pea-size amount in post-shower will do wonders for manageability, preventing breakage (the source of so many thin-hair woes), and actually enhancing each hair strand. This is one of my favorite off label plumpers, because it’s just so easy. The formula of the conditioner itself is designed to help rebuild hair with fibers that sort of fill in the gaps of weakened hair, leaving each strand just a little bit bigger. Consider it spackle for over-stressed tresses. Available .

4. Layer some on your lips. Murad’s nifty little tube for lips is loaded with collagen amino acids to help turn back the hands of time on mildly wrinkled and deflated lip areas. It’s a temporary plumper that acts as a balm and goes on so smoothly you’ll leave one in every bag as a sort of pre-lip color primer. Rapid Collagen Infusion for Lips available here.

5. A slice of watermelon, please. Dessert can have real benefits, you know. Watermelon is loaded with just the right amount of Vitamin C, water, lycopene, and amino acids to lock moisture in and fight free radicals. Try having a slice after dinner, or loading up your fruit salad with one of nature’s favorite plumpers.
