Stop the blogging! Everyone, come gather ‘round. The greatest thing since Rachel Zoe bringing back the term “bananas†has arrived: Polyvore. Imagine being able to compose entire outfits from images on the web, and then being told exactly where you can purchase each individual piece. It’s like Alicia Silverstone’s magical computer closet in Clueless, minus the fact that you don’t already own the goods.
Using the “Create a Set†interface, you can search for anything (read: Chloë, Chanel, J Brand, Louboutin) and place it into your set. You can build and add as many products as you want, even searching for wallpaper backgrounds or images of celebs, and then click to “publish†your image. Once published, the set can be visible to other members of Polyvore and the products in the set are itemized with information about how to purchase them (and you will want to purchase them).
In addition, let’s say there’s a reeeaaaally cute Fendi clutch you want to add but just can’t find the picture on Polyvore. You can find it anywhere on the internet and, using a few easy-to-follow steps, clip it to your browser and add it to Polyvore yourself. Voilà , operation impromptu accessory complete!
I’ve included a few of my fantasy sets (unless anyone wants to help make that Prada Cervo Antik Fringed Satchel a reality) and encourage anyone craving a little midday fashion pick-me-up to do the same. Rest assured you can search for H&M as easily as you can for Balenciaga. You can even create outfits for your favorite various fictional TV characters, and include a background color that matches their fictional bedroom paint, if, you know, you’re into that…
There are two things I’ve learned from Polyvore. 1. I don’t want to create an outfit without it ever again and 2. I have too much time on my hands. Visit Polyvore.com to start the newest wave of procrastination.
this is some fabulous writer ! !
Seriously.
Love the post, love the looks!
But don’t really love polyvore as much as I love shopstyle;)
